An artistic symposium with social aspects is new to us both. We are pleased with the results of having met such diverse group of artists – a positive and inspirational experience.
Our performances at Hagahemmet in Tammisaari were very well received, and consisted of a healthy variety of styles; improvised classical piano, improvised harmoic-melodic bass guitar, as well as poetry and guitar ballads sung in Swedish, which we believe to be quite a unique musical repertoire, whether at elderly homes or elsewhere.
It was inspiring to learn how enriching the musical performances have been to the seniors and the workers at the home. Though the seniors weren’t actively involved in the musical performances it was clear that their presence in the music gave them a direct, spontaneous energy of joy, which was mirrored back to us.
Music, like visual art, is a universal language in which we all participate, regardless of the degree of our active, physical participation – a dialogue always takes place. This has been an enriching experience for both of us. Thank you.

Ett konstnärligt symposium med sociala aspekter är nytt för oss båda. Vi är tillfredsställda med resultaten av att har fått uppleva en sådan mångfaldig skara av konstnärer – en positiv och inspirerande erfarenhet.
Våra uppträdanden på Hagahemmet i Ekenäs var väldigt positivt mottagna, och bestod av en hälsosam variation av stilar; improviserat klassiskt piano, improviserad harmonisk-melodisk basgitarr, poesi och svenka ballader på akustisk gitarr, vilket vi upplever som en väldigt unik musikalisk repertoar, vare sig på ålderdomshem eller annanstans. Det var inspirerande att få höra hur berikande våra uppträdanden varit för både seniorerna och arbetarna på hemmet. Trots att seniorerna inte deltog aktivt i musikframförandet så gav deras närvaro i musiken en uppenbar, direkt och spontan energi av glädje som återspeglades på oss. Musik, såsom visuell konst, är ett universellt språk där alla deltar, oavsett graden av aktivt, fysiskt
deltagande – en dialog äger alltid rum. Detta har varit en berikande erfarenhet för oss båda. Tack!

Taidesymposiumi, jossa on sosiaalisia näkökulmia, oli meille molemmille uusi. Olimme kumpikin iloisia saadessamme olla mukana monipuolisessa kansainvälisessa taideyhteisössä, joka loi innostavan ja myönteisen ilmapiirin. Tammisaaren Hagahemmet vanhainkodissa musiikkimme otettiin hyvin vastaan.
Teoksemme muodostui improvisaatiosta. Maximilian soitti klassista pianoa ja Patrik harmonis-melodista bassoa sekä luki ruotsinkielisiä runoja ja soitti kitaralla balladeja. Koimme, että loimme hyvin uniikin repertuaarin, joka toimi hienosti tässä vanhainkodissa, ja varmasti muuallakin. Oli inspiroivaa kokea kuinka musiikillisten esitysten luominen rikastutti ja voimaannutti senioreita ja vanhainkodin työntekijöitä. Vaikka seniorit eivät olleet aktiivisesti mukana musiikkiesityksissä, oli selvää, että heidän läsnäolonsa musiikissa antoi heille suoran, spontaanin ilon ja energian, joka peilattiin meille.
Musiikki, kuten kuvataide, on universaali kieli, johon me kaikki osallistumme, riippumatta aktiivisesta ja fyysisestä osallistumisestasi – vuoropuhelua käydään aina. Tämä on ollut rikas kokemus meille molemmille. Kiitos.

The particular focus of my works in the field of arts is the combination of art and music in paintings, drawings, and sculptures. The use of notes and autographs from classical composers are the key theme through all my work. My idea for the project in Finland is to work with music and water. With the influence of the sound of music, the water creates magic circles, stars, and waves.
The concept: I will play music or the piano and the motion of the water will create pictures. This will be shown on a screen or with a projector on a wall. The music and the pictures will have a relaxing atmosphere for the audience. It should be very basic for others to create their own pictures as well – It only takes a small stimulation to get the energy needed for the creation of paintings.
Patrik Lemberg – music and poetry
During the late half of the 1990s, I worked as a bass player and singer in a “heavy-funk” trio called Numb. During 2003-2005, I worked as the leader, composer, bass player and singer in the band Fat Funk Force. I have also worked as a bass player with various other Finnish artists and soul musicians, like Poppa Joe King. Over the past few years I have performed poetry and music at some events like Estradpoesi and Bokkalaset in Ekenäs. Last summer, I played music on the streets of Ekenäs and Fiskars. In January, I did a gig at the restaurant Rasta Chef In Ekenäs, together with the blues musician Kauri Kallio. Hagahemmet Nursing Home
Hagahem is a nursing home for the elderly with 4 different departments. Some departments have arts as part of their weekly routine in the form of music get togethers, etc. Poetry, circus, and theater programs have also been highly appreciated at Hagahem. However, some of the elderly are very sick, so there are some limitations on what kind of art forms can be offered. It was clear that music was something everyone hoped for at the nursing home.
Hagahem Hagahem består av 4 olika avdelningar. På en del avdelningar har de konst som en del av vardagen i form av tex. gemensamma musikstunder. Även högläsning, teater och circus har ägt rum på Hagahem och varit väldigt uppskattat av de äldre. På grund av väldigt varierande mående av de äldre finns det vissa begränsningar för hurudan social konst man kan erbjuda dem. Önskvärt var musik och under flrea tillfällen under veckan.
